Choosing sustainable packaging is important to Oleon as it can reduce the carbon footprint of the product for both customer and producer. But what does it mean “the best choice for sustainable packaging”? If we take into account the key principles of circular economy, we should first look for solutions that reduce packaging, then to re-use and recycle packaging to keep them in use. Today, 100% of the packaging used by Oleon for our finished products is recyclable and 30% is made from recycled materials. Additionally, Oleon pays attention to the following objectives: reduce the wall thickness of drums, reduce the amount of packaging by promoting more sustainable alternatives, and increasing the percentage of recycled materials. Our goal is to reduce the GHG emissions linked to packaging by at least 25% by 2026.
