Oleon, together with its shareholder Avril, is taking full responsibility to preserve our planet with clear common purpose:
Serving the Earth.
Our ambition? To offer safe and sustainable solutions that drive the global transition to a net-zero carbon economy.
Shaping our CSR vision, our continuously improving CSR roadmap is based on 3 commitments:
We take action to protect natural resources and biodiversity
Nature is our starting point.
- 95% of raw materials are renewable
- 100% of palm oil supply is deforestation-free (EUDR compliant)
- 100% traceability to the mill, 72% to plantation (2023)
- Satellite monitoring via Satelligence
- Support for smallholders through field projects
- RSPO Mass Balance & Segregated certified products
Our ambition is to use palm-based raw materials originating from areas where forests and peatlands are not destroyed, and where the rights of local farmers and communities are respected according to the NDPE (No Deforestation, no Peat, no Exploitation) principles.
- Ludovic Van, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager
We take action for the climate
Oleon is commited to reduce all direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030, compared to 2019.
- Efficiency improvements at production plants
- Employee awareness initiatives
- Exploring alternative energy sources and low-energy production methods
- 100% deforestation-free or sustainability certified raw materials in line with the EU Deforestation Regulation requirements
- 25% reduction in packaging-related CO₂ by 2026
- Sustainable transport partners monitored by EcoVadis
- 20% water reduction between 2022 and 2030
- 95% valorization of waste streams
- Water & waste targets integrated in HSE policy
11% of Oleon's total emissions are linked to CO2 emissions of our own production. Although this represents a small part of our total emissions, we do have the full power to reduce these emissions.

Our sustainability assessment tools
We steer our choices from the earliest phases of product development until industrialization.
During the first phases of product development, an internal scoring tool 'Ecolibra' is used to assess the sustainable character of the development. Ecolibra is a key tool to drive our innovation towards more sustainable solutions and reach our objective of 100% innovations having a sustainability benefit.
Once an innovation is industrialized, we steer our processes further by means of detailed carbon footprints and full life cycle analyses. This way we can contribute to the optimization of the environmental and social footprint of our customers' activities.
Oleon has a clear vision on eco-design based on 2 main principles:
- All our innovations have sustainability benefits such as:
- an improved carbon footprint
- a contribution to the circular economy
- being an alternative for a conventional toxic product
- a reduction of resources
- 100% of our product portfolio is assessed by Life Cycle Assessment and Carbon Footprint since 2023.
The EcoBeautyScore is a pioneering initiative that brings environmental transparency to the beauty and personal care industry. It provides a standardized, science-based method for assessing and communicating the environmental impact of products.
Thanks to the detailed information in our EDS (Environmental Data Sheets), customers can calculate their own EcoBeautyScore and contribute to a more sustainable future.
We take action for a collective and inclusive project
At Oleon, we believe that a natural chemistry entails much more than the production of our green chemicals. We aim to create ‘a natural chemistry’ with all the people that matter to us. We want our employees to be safe at Oleon. That is why our first priority is always safety. We want employees to be safe and to feel safe at Oleon.
Our targets
