Over 95% of the raw materials entering our formulations are of renewable sources. In order to further reduce the environmental footprint of our finished products – as is also required by our customers – we permanently focus on ways to reduce energy consumption, minimize waste, and improve recyclability.
Oleon aims to work exclusively with suppliers who uphold the same standards and principles as we do with regards to sustainability and ethical behavior. We have established a Supplier Code of Conduct in line with key international standards such as the ILO Conventions, the OECD Guiding Principles, the UNGC Principles and the Universal Declaration on Human Rights.
Our number of work accidents decreased with 90% from 2012 to 2020. This was achieved due to our updated Safety Policy, the introduction of a risk analysis of our processes and the implementation of a safety culture assessment.
Our product range is constantly evolving. Oleon strives to develop innovative products by combining excellent performance with renewable resources. In 2020, 80% of our new products were made primarily from renewable raw materials.
We strive to be transparent to our stakeholders. Therefore, we are a member of the collaborative platforms EcoVadis, CDP and Sedex. Customers who are also a member of these platforms can easily check our performance in terms of environment, fair business practices, labor practices, human rights and sustainable procurement. Our data are regularly updated on these platforms.
Oleon, as a member of RSPO since 2007, is promoting the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) rules and guidance. Oleon has been offering its customers RSPO Mass Balance certified products since 2011 and RSPO Segregated certified products since 2015.
